Written notes
Left in random places
Anonymous in the wind
Waiting for a perfect moment
Of place, time and chance to embrace
To begin a connection between you and me
Written notes
Left in random places
Anonymous in the wind
Waiting for a perfect moment
Of place, time and chance to embrace
To begin a connection between you and me
Quiet of night
Sometimes scream out to me
Hands covering my ears
Voices penetrating through the cracks of my fingers
I see your face
But am unable to call out to you
Maybe it’s for the best
You wont want to hear what I have to say
One day I’ll have the courage to tell you
Tell you everything
Until then
I’ll just watch you walk away in silence

Midnights in slow motion
The deafening sound of a moment turning a page
I wonder how I am able to stand so still
Yet in a split second
A blink of an eye
Yesterdays begin to pile up behind me
Unable to reach back
They fade
And I wonder if they’ve become wasted moments in time

Walking in aimless circles
With half of the yellow sun
A season of migration
Destination anywhere
Journey to the edge of the night
Fractured karma
Stolen prayers
Paper moons avoid burning candles
A reunion of familiar ghosts follow me
Sharing stories that can’t be untold
Bright lights
An alarm clock sings
A jolt opens my eyes
Looking far into the distance
The road ahead shorter than behind
White pigeons
Crimson wings
Muted sirens in the sky
A new companion for the journey
Each day is now alive

Polaroids rest on top of aged letters
A collection of connections tied together with string
Overlapping memories evoke laughter and tears
Bound to each other as one

Burnt orange rooftops
Shadowed alleys, stairways leading up
Fresh lime wedges squeezed on ceviche
Stretched out in courtyards enjoying the sun
Patina tower tops against a backdrop of drifting clouds
Alpaca softness against my skin
Focusing on children’s smiles through camera lenses
Inca Trail memories still simmering in my head

Following spray painted arrows on concrete stones
A flower child spins in circles, creating tie dye swirls, looking up, dancing for the sky
A mosaic of flower petals fit neatly together on the ground where they fell
Smoke from burning incense floats, creating cloud formations at our knees
Hints of the past emerge, a resurrection of another time
But this moment soon blows away
The dance ends
Petals are swept with the wind
The smoke melts into the ground
And I continue on my way, following spray painted arrows, but not empty handed

Wind chimes lost in the distance
Birds flying south for the winter
The last leaf to fall from a tree
Fleeting autumn sighs that blend with the wind
Emptiness caught in a moment of time

She took black and white photos
Her lense searching for a cure
Zooming in and out of a life that felt alone
Despite the perfect picture in a shiny frame
.
She took black and white photos
Because it was easier not to feel
A reflection of herself inside
Looking colorless in a mirror
.
She took black and white photos
Would the color ever return?
Waking each morning to capture the sunrise
Hoping one day the sun would appear

Breathless
Unable to see through the haze
Swimming in the layers of my memories
Images pass by
One by one my head turns
Watching my life in rewind
