Opened windows, releasing birds to search for the sky
A walk down a crowded street, an escape in broad daylight
Running across bridges, chasing cars to the other side
Gathering piles of leaves, knowing the wind will scatter them again
It’s a far cry from the beginning of spring
Not everything has been detangled, not just yet
I’ve been away far too long, returning is never easy
A time to look after the leap, just this once
